The CEU Shop is able to work with businesses, organizations, and academic institutions to put together a continuing education event that is approved for National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) Category 1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Events types include webinars (or webinar series), podcasts, journal or book clubs, dinner presentations, and conferences.
The CEU Shop works with each client to determine their specific goals for their educational event. Services can include:
- Designing a program that is compliant with CEU standards and meets the client’s educational goals.
- Completing the application process for NSGC Category 1 CEU approval. For Category 1 CEUs, at least one certified genetic counselor (CGC®) must be included as either a member of the program planning committee or a consultant. All work at The CEU Shop is completed by a CGC®.
- Managing the approval process, including any edits.
- Collecting and submitting all participant information to NSGC at the conclusion of the series so that Category 1 CEUs are issued.
- Email and/or mail marketing.
- Web-hosting or securing an in-person event location.
- Delivery of a recording of the event.
- Event registration and email reminders.
NSGC Category 1 CEUs are required for genetic counselors to maintain certification, and providing CEU programs can be a great way to connect with and support genetic counselors.
