I thought it would be fun to keep a running list of all the books people have suggested for upcoming CEU programs. The requirements are: 1) The book is non-fiction 2) There is an audiobook version available 3) Readers will meet learning objectives consistent with ACGC Practice-Based Competencies for Genetic Counselors (see below for more details). The NSGC Guidelines for Continuing Education state:

Continuing education in genetic counseling is an ongoing process consisting of formal learning activities that: (1) are relevant to genetic counseling practice, education, and science; (2) enable genetic counselors to keep pace with the most current scientific evidence regarding clinical practice and education as well as important legal, professional, or regulatory issues; and (3) allow genetic counselors to maintain, develop, and increase competencies in order to improve services to the public and enhance contributions to the profession.

Books need to fit into the ACGC Practice-Based Competencies for Genetic Counselors. These include: 1) Genetics and Genomics Expertise, 2) Risk Assessment, 3) Counseling, 4) Communication, 5) Research, 6) Healthcare Systems, and 7) Professional Identity.
